Our Therapists

  • Amy Picco, MA LMHCA

I approach therapy from a depth perspective which means that I orient to those aspects of experience and suffering that are not always known to conscious awareness.

The depth approach explores connections between the ‘here and now’ and the past, including how you’ve experienced relationships, work, and play as well as the cultural and spiritual influences in your life.

Discovering more about your authentic self, landing safely back in your body, finding the deeper meanings underneath your current symptoms, and identifying your fears, hopes and desires can help you find the sense of peace and purpose in your life that you’re missing.

In addition to having my master’s degree and license, I am currently completing my Ph.D. in clinical psychology through Pacifica Graduate Institute, and I am completing my predoctoral internship through the PBC.

It can be exhausting to balance your professional aspirations with the demands of your closest relationships - let alone also having time to meet your own needs. Life pulls you in so many different directions that you can easily end up spread thin, run down, or totally burnt out. When that happens, the most valuable thing you can do is make sure you have somebody in your corner who can support you and help you bring things back into balance.

In my work I do this by focusing on the body. You no doubt have a sense of how much your body has held onto over the years (like all that muscle tension). I'll help you release those old patterns that are no longer supportive, shifting from reactive to proactive, and guide you back to an authentic connection with yourself.

If you're interested in exploring whether or not we'd be a good fit to work together, reach out by email to schedule a no-cost consultation. We'll discuss your goals, the challenges that keep you from reaching them, and establish a plan to help you get from here to there as smoothly as possible.

  • Mimi Simon, Doctoral Candidate

I’m an explorer, a seeker, a pilgrim, and life-long learner. I have driven hundreds of thousands of physical and emotional miles over many years. And I know how difficult it is to ask for help.

I am informed by various depth psychological psychoanalytic approaches. I believe each therapeutic relationship must be ethically sensitive to race and culture without hierarchy. As a psychotherapist my goal remains to act as a guide to patients identifying strategies and highlighting solutions to access inner strength.

My practice has been reliably successful with individuals struggling with depression or anxiety, as well as those suffering with grief, anticipatory grief, trauma, and Complex PTSD. I have experience as a mental health advocate for disabled, minority, and underserved individuals.

Therapy will help you focus not only on what you think, feel, and do, but perhaps why you have these patterns, and what you can do should you want to change them.

I am here for you when you’re ready to ask for help.

  • Jeff Grant, Ph.D.

I help people who struggle with problems that they feel are impossible to change, understand, or even think about. I work well with individuals who are sensitive and creative, and need someone to help them understand the roots of what they struggle with, and how that impacts their life in the here-and-now. I don't work well with people who want to be "fixed" without coming to know themselves better in the process. In my experience, working to understand who you are offers the best hope for lasting change. I look forward to hearing from you.

  • David Krom, LMHCA

I provide individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults. My treatment approaches are primarily psychodynamic and relational. I further structure my approach to the unique needs of the client by drawing on a number of different schools in my theoretical orientation, including humanistic, existential, and family systems and attachment approaches. I earned a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and I am currently practicing as a licensed psychological associate working towards licensure.

I help people who are motivated to change patterns and behaviors and who view therapy with an attitude of openness and collaboration, and a willingness to invest time and effort. I provide a safe, trusting and non-judgmental environment, where current pain can be examined from the context of personal history including social and emotional development, family relationships, cultural context, and other environmental and social factors. Clinical experience include intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings for children, adolescents, and adults.

  • Anne Hoff, MA LMHCA

I offer psychotherapy for late teens and adults wanting to dive deep for real change - which is seen as greater awareness about what we think and feel, why we act as we do, and what is needed for change. I came to psychotherapy from a long and deep background in bodywork, meditation, and the intersection of mind-body-spirit.

My work is grounded in psychodynamic and Jungian depth traditions and somatic embodiment. Working together, we include in the present moment relevant elements of the past, your thoughts, your emotions, your body experience, your dreams and daydreams. Each offers a piece towards your wholeness. You can engage through regular "talk therapy," or explore sand tray work, Somatic Experiencing®, and more.
